About Nick - St Hild Centre for Baptist Ministry Director
Nick is the Director of the newly established St Hild Centre for Baptist Ministry.
Nick has over 20 years experience in church leadership in a variety of fruitful, growing settings including trebling the size of a suburban house church, leading the urban campus of a large Anglican-Baptist multi-site with extensive mercy/social ministries and planting a new city-centre church which has since multiplied through further church plants.
He began full time ministry aged 30 as a ‘gifted amateur’, several years before responding to a vocational call to Baptist ordination. For the first decade of his working life he was a Marketing Manager with PwC a global accountancy/management consultancy. He is experienced in raising and coaching missional leaders, and has a specialism in the young adult generations, including publishing an award-winning book about discipling those generations. Nick’s research interest is in missional movements plus growing and multiplying healthy churches (macro and micro).
Alongside his role with St Hild, Nick is the Baptist Senior Minister of The Well Sheffield, which he leads jointly with his wife. They have 3 children, and a border collie.
Nick’s first degree is in History (Sheffield) which remains one of his passions. He gained a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM) during his business career. His Masters in Theology & Ministry (2012, Sheffield) accompanied his Baptist ordination training with YMC: a forerunner of St Hild College. In 2024 Nick was awarded his Doctorate (DMin, Asbury Seminary, Kentucky) in Church Planting in Post-Christendom Europe.
